Master stokers! The stoking started at 6:00 with Susan and continued throughout the day until 11:30 at night. Needless to say, we all collapsed into bed at midnight. Sunday was a day of rest. It takes all day for the kiln to cool down and we won't come back until Monday morning to see the results of our labors. Some folks went back to the city and some of us went for a hike. Those on the hike were rewarded with a sighting of a black-backed woodpecker, rare to the area. Do you think the kiln goddess is a birder, too?
